Tips On Getting Work Related Medical Treatment Paid By The Insurance Company

December 15, 2010 By Paul Giannetti

There are a few easy tips that will help the injured worker insure that medical treatment stemming from a work related injury or condition gets paid by the insurance carrier.

First, it is crucial that you advise all medical providers that the treatment that you are having is a result of a work related injury. If your providers do not know this is work related then they will not bill Workers’ Compensation. When this happens, it creates many unnecessary problems and delays.

Next, be sure to give all of your medical providers the name of your employer’s Workers’ Compensation carrier, their full address, and your case number. If you do not have that information it is important that you provide it to your medical providers as soon as you receive it. if your doctors do not know who to send the bills to they will not get paid and you will end up with collection notices.

Albany injury attorney, Paul Giannetti has represented hundreds of injury victims in personal injury, workers compensation and social security disability matters throughout upstate New York. His firm handles all types of accident and injury cases and represents only injury victims.
