Once you have been approved for SSD or SSI benefits you may still be subject to periodic medical reviews by the Social Security Administration. The purpose of these reviews is to determine whether or not you remain disabled under the Social Security Administration’s rules.
Continuing disability reviews, known as CDR, apply to both Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income recipients and can take place periodically every 3 to 7 years. When you are scheduled for your CDR, you will receive a disability update report form that you should complete to the best of your ability. The form requests information regarding any change in your medical condition, treatment, or limitations.
