Coordinating Multiple Claims

August 23, 2012 By Paul Giannetti

An extremely important yet often overlooked aspect of injury claims involves coordination of benefits. Coordination of benefits simply means making sure that you have accessed all possible avenues of benefit recovery. In certain circumstances there can be multiple sources of recovery from your injury claim. These can include NYS Workers’ Compensation benefits, Federal Social Security Disability benefits, Personal Injury recoveries, NYS Disability benefits, Unemployment benefits, and possibly Private Disability benefits through a private insurer.

While most people will not qualify for all of these benefits finding an attorney familiar with all possible sources of income can be crucial to your financial situation while you are recovering from your accident. In our office, we take pride in looking at the big picture and covering all bases for our clients in order to insure that they are getting each and every benefit that they may be entitled to.
