Our office has represented scores of union members, many from PEF.
It is important for all injured workers to understand their legal rights and responsibilities when they have been injured at work. Union members should also be familiar with any additional benefits they may be entitled to through their collective bargaining agreement. Each time a new union contract is negotiated, the rights and responsibilities of the injured union member can be modified, and it is crucial to keep abreast of the terms of the union contract.
Members of PEF are bound by their union contact with regards to restoring accruals that may have been exhausted during work related lost time, getting alternative duty assignments, and receiving lost wage payments in a timely fashion.
If you are a PEF member and you are not familiar with your legal rights and responsibilities under the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law, my firm would be happy to meet with you, at no charge, to address your concerns.
