Medicare Part B is a type of government subsidized medical insurance. Part B can cover doctor visits, outpatient care, and other types of medical treatment. There is a standard premium amount that most people pay. However, if your income is over a certain level then you will be required to pay a higher premium amount.
Your Medicare card will indicate whether or not you have Part B coverage. If you have qualified for Social Security Disability benefits you should receive your Medicare card during the 25th month following your disability.
Some people do not want Medicare Part B and can return the card in accordance with the instructions on the documentation that was provided to you with the card.
